Our Story

At present, in 2026, approximately eighty percent of the adult population are not actively engaged with a health club, fitness center, structured exercise program or personal trainer. And about sixty-five percent of the adult population of the US either HAVE, and need to manage, or wish to proactively AVOID getting, HYPERTENSION, DIABETES or OBESITY.

Parks & Rec Rx Connect brought medically directed programs targeting hypertension, diabetes and obesity to the Parks & Rec, YMCA and Community Center community with funding provided in  toto by available grants. Parks & Rec Rx. was created to supplement and perpetuate those medically directed programs implemented under Parks & Rec Rx Connect as fee-based services, presenting a seamless transition that ensures continuity of care and optimum long-term results.

Simply put, for a fraction of what health care service would cost under our existing and broken healthcare/Medicare/Medicaid system, that addresses symptoms, participants can achieve realistic goals and in a two-to-three-year period of  dedicated participation discover that those specific conditions can be significantly, reduced, minimized, and even eliminated in some cases.

In other words, we bring population health and individual wellness benefits to that sixty-five percent – and bring them physical improvements that may, in time, minimize their conditions and maximize their enjoyment of life.

Population engagement, health & wellness benefits and measurable results are obtained through the continuation of medically directed, clinically focused, instructor-led small group training programs offered through Parks & Rec District, Community and YMCA fitness centers. Better living starts with better health, and our healthcare system has given up on those three demographics. We have not.

The broad reaching change we seek will never be achieved in Washington DC, because to do so would require that the three entities seeing the greatest profits from the current system (Health Insurance Companies, Big Pharma and in many cases the Doctors themselves) would all have to agree to drastically reduce their profits. We just don’t see that happening. Change must come from the ground up, and under our business model, if just one percent (1%) of the target population were to fully engage in our programming, the savings in health care service over the next 10 years would be in the tens of billions of dollars. Yes, billions.

It has often been said that is one is not part of the solution, one is part of the problem. We represent a viable, sustainable, scalable solution to a massive problem. Politicians will tell you who to blame for the problem, the drug companies will claim their shareholders will not allow them to address the problem, and the physicians caught in the middle often feel they have no choice but to remain beholden to the other two and continue to treat symptoms with drugs. We do not ask for their help and cannot count on their support.

Parks & Rec, YMCA and Community Center facilities are the heart of the solution. You can be the change we seek. So, will you passively “let someone else do it”, or will you join us and help bring about the necessary change in our lifetimes? The problem is real, the challenge is there, but the opportunity is massive and the time is now. Will you step back or step up?
